OBJECTIVE:
Increase the operators productivity and value. Reduce the number of
operational errors. Improve the data integrity of the online systems.
Outline the functions of CICS and teach proper operational procedures
and commands.
DESCRIPTION:
The normal and abnormal operating conditions of CICS are covered in this
class. Commonly used master terminal (CEMT) functions are illustrated using
hands-on demonstrations when possible. Warm, emergency, cold, and automatic
startups are covered in detail. Batch utilities and procedures such as
printing dumps and traces are also discussed.
The student books serve as valuable reference material which may help
develop CICS operations documentation and standards. The student books
are available for CICS/TS and CICS/VSE.
